SUNDAY ARVO’S AT The Public Bar
**Prophets – a special gig with members of both the Sydney and Melbourne franchise
**The Hackkets: Proudly hailing from Melbourne’s West, The Hackkets are a band made up of members with and without disability, brought together more than 10 years ago as part of Footscray Community Arts Centre’s ArtLife program and still going strong! The band originally focussed on covers, immersing themselves in the kind of universal classic hits Rock and Roll that wins over even the most hardened in-car sing-along scrooge, but since 2011 have channelled their love of such classics into their own reinvented AM radio fan-fiction.
** Bassidi Kone a renowned virtuoso musician from Mali, West Africa. He is the leader of Group Bwazan and Kone Express and performs with the stars of Malian music including Bassekou Kouyate, Mah Kouyate No.1. Bassidi will present a solo performance with songs accompanied by balafon, a West African xylophone.
** SK Simeon – SK has been performing in Melbourne reggae dancehall scene since early 2011 with his singjay vocal delivery and mixture of comedic tone with conscious lyrics. SK Simeon sings and toasts in english and luganda and focuses on a style of singing called waterhouse. He has played at all reggae/dancehall and dub venues including I love Dancehall and More Fire, Heartical Sound System just to name a couple.
